Netflix

I left Kale at Jane's house tonight while I took Nolan to tball. When I picked him up he was watching a movie with Devon, Jane's grandson. After bath I aske Kale what movie he watched. He told me "Netflix".

Kale was in the tub tonight and Nolan was on the toilet. I had to get something in the kitchen. No sooner did I get in to the kitchen when I heard Nolan shouting "Mom, it's raining in the bathroom!" I hurried back there, thinking a pipe had burst. Luckily no, but Kale had pulled the shower button up. He learned a valuable lesson tonight, mostly because he scared himself!

The boys are both funny right now with how they respond when they're excited. Nolan says "yessssssss", and Kale says "woo hoo!"

Prayers

Tonight during prayers Kale was being stubborn and only prayed for Daddy. I was prompting him to pray for the rest of us when Nolan told him if he doesn‘t pray for the baby it will cry. Kale quickly prayed for the baby, then asked to see the pictures again. They can be so sweet! We asked the boys last night if they think we are having a boy or a girl. Nolan says he thinks it will be a sister, and Kale said a "brudda". We'll have to wait and see until November!

Cute

What a great birthday for Adam!  We had our ultrasound today. It's always such a relief to see and hear that the baby is great!  They gave us a lot of pics, along with a flashdrive of the ones that are recognizable.  We even got a few 3D pics, which are creepy but kind of fun.  We were showing the pics to the kids before bed tonight.  They really didn't understand the 2D pic, but they quickly figured out the baby in the 3D pic.  Kale looked at it, said 'cute' and gave me a big hug, followed by some kisses.  He can be so sweet sometimes!

We had an early tball game tonight. We followed that up by having dinner at the drive-in. After we got home Adam gave the boys a quick bath.  I prepped the cake and right as Adam was opening his gift Greg and Ellen stopped by. The boys could hardly wait for cake and ice cream, but they were patient as we sang happy birthday.  Kale saw me folding my hands over the edge of the chair while we sang, and sure enough he folded his hands in prayer while he sang to Adam.  We packed in a lot for one evening, but it was worth for a great bday celebration!

Tball

It was Nolan's first night of tball - and it went really, really well!  He is so excited to be a member of the Westonka Twin's team. THey lined the kids up by height, and Nolan happened to be the 7th tallest - so he is number 7, just like Joe Mauer, as Adam told him.  They had a half hour of practice and then a 1/2 hour game.  They learned to run the bases in the right order, how to get to a ground ball and throw to 1st base, and how to hit, drop the bat and run to 1st.  Nolan was super smiley and participated the whole time. The only meltdown he had was at the end of the game, when we had to go home and he wanted to play at the park.  We'll have to figure something out for next time!

Kale thought the park was great and tried to make his own friends, too - but they were a lot older than him and they couldn't understand a word he was trying to tell them! He also thought it was fun to chase some of the kids around yelling "arghhhhhhh" and walk around singing Mary had a Little Lamb.  He ended the evening by pretending to fall over in front of me in the grass and falling asleep.

We took quick baths and after two books said prayers.  Kale went first and prayed for the usual peeps - Mom, Dad, baby, Nolan, Jane, Evy, Norah, Devin, Braden and Logan. He ended by praying for the bed and Shrek.  Nolan prayed for everyone Kale prayed for, too, plus a few more.  He added a special someone to the end of the prayer list tonight - Joe Mauer.  What a way to end the night!

The meltdowns

I've talked to many girlfriends about this topic, and we all agree on one thing - dinner time can be very challenging.  The kids are tired, usually because they've worked hard to be good all day.  You're tired from work.  It doesn't always make for the best combination.  Tonight both kids, but primarly Kale, had fairly major meltdowns.  I'm sure our neighbors loved hearing Kale screaming that he wanted me to push him on the swing faster - and no matter what I did it wasn't good enough, which meant more tears and screaming.  Nolan was upset because he didn't want to kick his legs.  Then he slid down the slide head first and hurt his tummy.  I told them both we had to go in if they couldn't stop crying.  This was proceeded by more screaming and crying.  Jane warned me when I picked them up after work that Kale didn't nap today.  That's usually not a good sign, and that was the case tonight.  It's so funny because last night the kids were GREAT - no issues, played nicely, and listened well.  I know they can't do that every night, but it wouldn't it be great if they did?

Fur

Adam got back from his fishing trip to Canada tonight.  Nolan was already sleeping, and Kale was close, but not quite sleeping yet.  Adam went in to his room to give him a kiss and hug.  Kale hugged him and rubbed his cheek - which was covered in a freshly grown beard.  Kale looked at Adam and said "Dad, you have fur".

Octagon

Jane was impressed with Kale a few weeks ago.  She said she kept forgetting to tell us that he drew a circle, but informed her it was an octagon, like a stop sign.  I had to laugh because both boys are really in to talking about stop signs and the shape it is.  I didn't realize that Kale would try and transfer than in to his drawing skills!
