It runs in the family

Luckily Nolan was only sick last week for 24 hours, but it has taken him since last Wednesday to start to feel like his old self again! The bad news is Nolan passed along the bug to Adam, and he was wiped out for a full 24 hours, too! Here is hoping and praying I don't get it.

Nolan's 1 year check up went really well. He's developing just fine, and weighs 22 lbs 6 oz. (45%) and is 30.25 inches long (70%). He wasn't able to get his shots because he was sick, but he did need to get blood drawn. Let's just say he was not a fan, and let everyone know it! He took it like a little man, though, and didn't fight it. He just screamed and cried, poor kid! His eating habits have back tracked a little big again, too, probably because he was sick. He was drinking whole milk just fine, but has now decided he doesn't like it. He liked blueberries at the beginning of last week, but now throws them across the kitchen in protest. On a bright note, he has decided that this week he's going to eat bananas, and in fact ate a whole one (cut up, of course) for breakfast this morning, along with a whole piece of toast. If only he would meat and veggies like that! Maybe I should start to feed him dinner at breakfast, and breakfast for dinner . . .

Adam took Nolan to Mankato this weekend so Christianne could come up to our house to enjoy a girls weekend. It was so fun! We shopped and ran errands for 12 hours on Saturday - in between our lunch, dinner and pedicure! We both crossed off almost everything we needed to get on our lists. The only thing I didn't find was a suit for Nolan for Paulette and Ryan's wedding. At least I still have time to find one. The only downside of this weekend was the fact poor Adam called me on Sunday morning at 6:15 to let me know he was up sick all night and couldn't drive himself and Nolan home from Mankato. I felt so bad for him! Good thing Christianne is flexible and got up right away to drive us to Mankato so I could drive Adam and Nolan home. Adam slept most of yesterday, and is feeling better today.

I took Nolan to get his 1 year pics taken at Sears yesterday afternoon. Usually Adam comes along, but he wasn't in any condition to accompany us! Nolan and I survived, and he actually did pretty good. The first half of pictures always goes better than the 2nd half, so luckily we were able to get a few cute shots right away. I forgot how much work it is to get a kid to smile in front of a stranger. I was super sweaty when it was all said and done!
